Passport You Say?

Updated: Aug 22, 2021

Your KEY that unlocks the WORLD of Travel

So you say you want to travel the world, but you don't have a passport?

First thing on the list is to apply for a U.S. Passport, your key that opens the door to the world of travel. You can not enter into or exit another country without a valid passport.

Follow the easy steps below to get you closer to wander the world in wonder:

Locate your nearest Passport Acceptance Facility.

Click link to go to the Search Page and view a list of the nearest designated passport application facilities. https//iafdb.travel.state.gov

First timers generally apply at the Post Office, make sure to call and schedule your appointment because it is required.

Click the link below to go to the State Department website and complete the Form DS-11 application for U.S. Passport.

Make sure to leave the box for your signature blank until you reach the Passport Acceptance Facility. You must sign your application in the presence of a passport acceptance officiate at your appointment in order for it to be considered valid.

Get your photo taken

You need to have one 2" by 2" color passport photo taken at a place of your choosing that is in compliance with the government passport photo requirements. There are several places you can go to where the price is more economical than the Post Office.

Gather all required documents, schedule your appointment and take them to your appointment.

You'll need the following required documents :

Citizenship evidence original or certified copy of a birth certificate

Identification valid driver's license or enhanced driver's license with photo, military or government issued identification

Proof of relationship (for children under 16) All passport applicants under 16 must apply in person using Form DS-11.

When you receive your passport in the mail, you'll have your very own key that will open the door to wander the world in wonder.

Visit the U.S. Department of State for additional information about the application process and processing fees.
